Customizing your dashboard

Personalize your Gradeworks dashboard with the widgets and layout that match your role — surface the metrics you check daily and hide what you don't need.

The dashboard is your command center, but not everyone needs the same view. An estimator cares about bid pipeline and win rates. A dispatcher cares about today's assignments and crew availability. Customization lets you build the dashboard that answers your daily questions at a glance.

Available widgets

  • Active Bids — count and total value of bids in each status
  • Today's Dispatch — crews dispatched, assignments pending, clock-in status
  • Project Timeline — upcoming milestones and approaching deadlines
  • Crew Utilization — this week's crew loading percentage
  • Recent Activity — latest bid changes, dispatch updates, and sign-offs
  • Revenue Forecast — projected revenue from awarded bids and active projects

Customizing layout

  1. Click the Customize button in the top-right corner of the dashboard
  2. Drag widgets to reorder them — the first two occupy the top row and get the most visual space
  3. Toggle widgets on or off using the checkboxes in the widget panel
  4. Click Save Layout when you're satisfied

Your layout is saved per user — it doesn't affect what other team members see. Each person can configure their own dashboard to match their role and preferences.

Role-based defaults

New users start with a role-appropriate dashboard layout. Admins see all widgets. Estimators see the bid pipeline and recent activity. Dispatchers see today's dispatch and crew utilization. These defaults are a starting point — every user can customize from there.

Pro tip
Put your most-checked widget in the top-left position. That's where your eye goes first when the page loads. For most dispatchers, that's Today's Dispatch. For estimators, it's Active Bids.
