Bulk operations
Select multiple items and act on them at once — bulk status changes, batch assignments, multi-bid exports, and other time-saving batch operations.
Working with items one at a time is fine for five bids. For fifty, you need bulk operations. Gradeworks supports multi-select and batch actions across bids, work blocks, dispatch assignments, and timesheets — turning repetitive clicks into a single action.
How multi-select works
In any list view, click the checkbox on the left side of a row to select it. Click additional checkboxes to select multiple items. Or use Shift+Click to select a range — click the first item, hold Shift, click the last item, and everything in between is selected. A batch action bar appears at the top showing how many items are selected and what you can do with them.
Bulk actions on bids
- Change status — move multiple bids to a new status at once (e.g., mark 10 old bids as Lost)
- Export — export selected bids to CSV/Excel
- Assign — assign multiple bids to a different estimator
- Delete — remove selected draft bids (Submitted and Awarded bids can't be bulk deleted)
Bulk actions on the dispatch board
On the dispatch board, Shift+Click multiple blocks to select them. Then drag the group to a new crew row (reassign all at once) or right-click for batch options: mark all as dispatched, add a note to all, or remove all from the board. This is indispensable on rain days when you need to reschedule an entire day's outdoor work.
Bulk timesheet approval
In the Timesheets view, select multiple workers and click Approve. All selected timesheets with valid sign-offs are approved in one action. Any timesheet with missing sign-offs or flagged entries is skipped with a notification — it won't be silently approved.
